The 46th Annual Cornwell Tools Night Under Fire was an exceptionally electrifying experience for race fans last evening at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. They celebrated 60 years of Summit Motorsports Park and 50 years of the Bader family's ownership of it!
The Hooligans Flight Team performed a dramatic flyover during opening ceremonies and famous Funny Car racers including John Force, Ron Capps, Robert Hight, Cruz Pedregon, Tim & Daniel Wilkerson along with Dale Creasy Jr. were a big part of the sensational show.
Fan-favorite Jet Dragster drivers Ernie Bogue, Russ Glover, Jeff Hoekstra, Josh Graham, Dawn Perdue and David Gates (who will be gunning for an North American Jet Car Championship) helped to light up the evening.
The fans kept an eye on Jet Truck performer Hayden Proffitt and Top Fuel Harley-Davidson Motorcycle riders Ryan Peery, Jay Turner, Tii Tharpe, Randal Andras, Chris Smith and Bob Malloy.
Joe Sylvester, who set a Guinness World Record for the World's Fastest Monster Truck at last year's event, returned for this year's event, and Wheelstanders wheeled by Jim Brewer and Steve Harper will aimed for the sky!
Outllaw Dragster and Scottrods AA/Gassers were in action and Top Alcohol Dragster racers JP Gutierrez of Gutierrez Brothers Racing and Corey Michalek of Michalek Brothers Racing faced each other and flew down the track!
The Edelbrock Super Series Elite presented by Lucas Oil and Rocko Machine added to the lineup.
New for 2023, the R&R Auto Body Top Sportsman Shootout featured eight of the finest Top Sportsman racers from the Midwest who were personally invited to race for a guaranteed purse of $5,000 in front of a packed house for the event!
A fantastic $125,000 Bader Family Signature Fireworks Finale presented by R&R Auto Body capped off the evening, and Trainwreck Country Band performed after the fireworks!
