After winning the pole earlier in the day, Chandler Smith followed that up by playing spoiler in the evenings main event. Smith's truck was the first across the finish line stealing part of the spotlight from the championship 4.
The No. 18 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota passed Sheldon Creed with under 20 laps remaining and sailed off into the Phoenix sunset. Creed faded to finish fourth, while Stewart Friesen earned the second-place spot.
“First and foremost, all glory to the man upstairs, man,” Smith said. “Without him, none of this would be possible. I wouldn’t have all of these awesome relationships with all of these, my racing family. This is my family. Also, he’s blessed me with a great family and just being around great people. And being able to come out here at Phoenix Raceway in front of these fans tonight and being able to compete in high-tier equipment. I’m just extremely blessed right now.”
Congrats to Chandler Smith and Kyle Busch Motorsports on the win!
