With the conclusion of the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday, many team stuck around to get in some extra testing while Travis Shumake targeted a few successful passes so that he can compete in this upcoming weekend's regional event.
Drivers Included Steve Torrence, Brittany Force, Mike Salinas, Doug Kalitta, Antron Brown, Tony Shumacher and others from Top Fuel while Matt Hagan, John Force, Robert Hight, JR Todd and Bob Tasca took passes in their respective funny cars.
Tony Stewart also took a few passes in Leah Pruett's dragster getting some additional experience and igniting fan interest of seeing him eventually compete for his own team.
To compete in this weekends Region 7 Lucas Oil Divisional Series, Travis Shumake showed up in borrowed racing gear from Matt Hagan and Duane Shields among others after his equipment was lost recently.
From afar, it may have been able to confuse him with John Force as he was in a borrowed Peak Performance livery.
At the end of the day, Robert Hight seemed to have the most solid run at 3.84 and 334+ MPH. Many of the Toyota's seemed to struggle while making changes to increase speed while preparing for the next big race weekend in Houston.
